Child Protection Policy for photographing children
Photographing children is a very emotive subject. If you photograph children it is advisable to have a child protection policy. But it must be more than just words, you have to put them into place. Four years ago I had a call from a "parent" asking for a password, I refused, she persisted, i keeped refusing, "Good" she said, and booked me for an event photographing children that I have done for the last four years.
Please feel free to copy use this Child protection Policy below on the condition that a minimum donation of £20 is made to the NSPCC, National Society of Prevention of Cruely to Children. A donation of £500 is required for unauthorised use.
********* will do every thing in its power to ensure images of children taken by a ********* Associate Photographers are not inappropriately used. This will include the following:
- All ********* Associate Photographers taking pictures of under 18's will be processed thought the Criminal Records Board.
- ********* Associate Photographers shall show CRB accreditation upon request by any member of the public at any children's event.
- On no occasion shall a ********** Associate photographer have sole access to children.
- On no occasion shall a ********* Associate photographer take pictures outside of the event.
- ********* Associate Photographers shall only use verbal commands for setting up posed photographs.
- If requested by the event organisor, children event photographs loaded onto ********* website can be password protected (minimum 6 characters), given to parents and club managers/officials before and at time of event.
- If a password is not known and access is required to the album, then under no condition will the password be given out, and the requester will be directed to the club manager/official or event organiser for verification.
- Strategically placed posters at car parks and entranceways informing that a Photographer is covering the event.
- ********* Associate photographers will easily be recognisable.
- All images are deleted after 4 weeks of event-finished date.
- ************ Associate Photographer shall not sell, trade or give any image to the national/local or international press of any description or any other organisation outside of **********.
- Pictures will only be taken/uploaded where children are appropriately dressed for there activity, as a minimum shorts and vest top.
- No full frame pictures will be taken/uploaded on any part of the body except head and torso.
- No picture will be taken/uploaded at an inappropriate viewing angle.
- No pictures of children in distress or pain will be taken/uploaded.
- If requested by a career/parent or child not to take there picture this is fully complied and all pictures are deleted from the camera immediately.
- If career/parent/child request any images removed from the ******* website this is complied. Go to feedback form an quote picture ID numbers i.e. 1234567.
- Payment is only received by credit/debit cards to provide a traceable path and confirmation of the purchasers address.
- No personnel details i.e. name, address or email will be accredited to any image whatsoever and club names before password acceptance.
- No image downloads are available to avoid Image Manipulation.
- All images are right click disabled to prevent un-authorised copying and Image manipulation.
- ********** Associates Photographers will not drink alcohol, smoke or use inappropriate language in front of children.
- No photographic or image capturing equipment to be used or taken into changing rooms.
Violation of any of these points or In the event that an accusation is made against a *********** Photographer the account is immediately suspended until the Police or Child Protection Board carries out a full investigation.
Never put yourself in a position where accusation of your conduct can be made against you.
