Hi,
Simplicity of use has always been at the heart of our design, there is no exception with ULTIMATE VIEW and we are very confident that you will learn this software very quickly, even if you are a PC Novice.
Your biggest leaning curve could well be setting up your event photo system with anetwork to run your multiple viewing stations or thin clients/server. Although networking has recently become a lot easier to understand and implement, if you are unsure how to do it then read some of these links before you do it your self.

Hi,
Here is my favourite two event photography software. Click to redirect.
Picasa 2 : The guys from Google came up trumps with Picasa, very useful for basic editing, but used most often in separating images into sub folders so that they can easily be located on websites.
Irfanview : Not the prettiest of software to look at, but extremely powerful (so be careful). Great for batch renaming, that is very important when it comes to supplying the high res image for print, as then it is quick to find the correct image.
Any more please add.
Thanks

If you are thinking of going wireless when you do your event photography this is well worth having a look at.
A 10th of the price I have just paid for my 40D wifi unit. It is a WiFi SD card (can be used with a cf/sd adaptor.) You take your pictures and it transmits the image to your PC/MAC through 801.g automatically, so it is fast and at $100, is great value.
If anyone has used this system please give some feedback below.

Onsite Event Photography Software with shopping cart and printing.
Hi,
We are currently researching on adding a module to ULTIMATE Deluxe for use by onsite event photographer so there clients have the abilty to make orders via multiple viewing stations so that prints can be selected, ordered and printed onsite, quickly.
This works by running Jalbums in server mode and as soon as images arrive in the input folder that is watched by Jalbums (by wi-fi, tethered or card reader) the images are processed automatically to create the index.html. By then setting up a network of laptops or even screen sharing and running a browser that points at this index.html file. Guests will be able to go to any of the viewing stations and see thier picture seconds after being taken.
We are off course keeping one of the best and most enjoyed features of ULTIMATE in that the ability to add any image to a basket takes just one click.
When a client has completed their purchase and goes to the checkout, rather than enter in all their personnal details there is just one button "Buy Now" (as this will be a jpg this can easily be changed) When the button is pushed this save an order form to any location on your network. This is a similar form to the payment by cheque option currently available in ULTIMATE Deluxe. The opertor will also be able to click on the link on the order form and for it to open in the default image viewer, ie Photoshop ready to take the cash and print.
We would appreciate your comments and any ideas.
Thanks
Mark
